OUR APPROACH

At the heart of our work is a therapeutic, person-centred approach that goes above and beyond traditional care. We believe every young person deserves understanding, consistency, and genuine investment in their future. Our team brings together exceptional professional expertise — our Founder and Managing Director is an experienced CAMHS nurse with over 10 years of clinical experience, our Responsible Individual is a qualified teacher with more than a decade of experience in education, and we are supported by a qualified psychologist who helps guide our therapeutic practice. We also have an in-house trainer dedicated to maintaining high standards across our services and ensuring every team member receives ongoing professional development.

Every young person’s care plan and risk assessment is uniquely tailored, keeping them at the centre of every decision. Our staff use the PACE model (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) and apply Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs to ensure emotional, social, and developmental wellbeing are prioritised at all times. Although Every Child Matters is no longer a national policy, its principles remain central to our ethos — ensuring that every young person is healthy, safe, achieving, respected, and prepared for a positive future.

We prioritise CPD, recognising that the knowledge and skill of our team directly impact the outcomes for the young people we support. We offer specialised training whenever gaps or opportunities for growth arise and provide all staff with access to NVQ qualifications to further their professional progression. Our commitment to learning extends to supporting two student social workers, reflecting our passion for developing future practitioners and embedding best practice within our homes.

Quality Monitoring

Residential Children’s Homes

Our children’s home operates under the Ofsted regulatory framework and follows the Guide to the Children’s Homes Regulations, including the Quality Standards (April 2015). We are fully committed to maintaining the highest standards of care and ensuring compliance with both the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and the Social Care Common Inspection Framework (SCCIF).

Our home, Damascus Dwelling, has been rated “Good” by Ofsted, reflecting our consistent commitment to delivering safe, nurturing, and effective care for young people. In addition to Ofsted’s inspections, we receive independent Regulation 44 visits every month, during which an external professional conducts detailed reviews of our care, records, and safeguarding practices. These visits provide objective feedback and help us to continuously improve the quality and consistency of our service.

Supported Accommodation

Our supported accommodation service is also registered and regulated by Ofsted, operating in line with the Guide to the Supported Accommodation Regulations including Quality Standards (March 2023). We maintain a strong focus on governance, compliance, and continuous improvement, ensuring that the young people we support are provided with safe, structured, and empowering environments.

We commission independent quality assurance inspections from an external consultant, who reviews our documentation, practice, and overall service delivery to ensure we consistently meet — and aim to exceed — regulatory expectations.

As a provider, we are also registered with the WLA Commissioning Alliance, which demonstrates our ongoing commitment to meeting local authority quality standards and providing transparent, accountable services to commissioning partners.
